IPA Palooza at Sacramento Brewing Co.
This is a very quick post to point out that Sacramento Brewing Company will be hosting its first-ever IPA festival this week. There is no entry fee, you just pay for whatever beer you order. Peter is hoping to have some flights available for convenience, but the details on that aren’t worked out yet.
Here’s some important details.
Date: Wednesday 7/22/09 – opens at 11:30am
Location: Sacramento Brewing – 2713 El Paseo Ln, Sacramento (Fulton/Marconi)
Price: varies, based on what beer you order
Beers: See list below for the hopped-up beers that will be on tap.
- Auburn Alehouse – Gold Digger IPA, Un-Obtanium Double IPA
- Bear Republic – Racer 5, Racer X
- Deschutes - Red Chair IPA
- FiftyFifty - Rockslide IPA
- Firestone Walker – Union Jack & Double Jack
- Flying Dog – Double Dog
- Great Basin Brewing – Ichthyosaur IPA

- And more…
Standouts on this list, things we just don’t see in Sacramento (ever!) include the Moonlight, Blind Pig, Valley, FiftyFifty & Great Basin – those alone make it worth the trip to SacBrew. There will also be a few cask-conditioned, hopped-up brews. We hope you can make it.

For a Hop Hunter this is like shooting fish in a barrel. I may even have to get off early from work for this…and even maybe take the next day off as well. Way too many choices to even think about driving home either. Tough day to be a designated driver though ….. but yet…..any volunteers??
